Mukuyuni Smallhold Coffee Farmers.  Machakos, Kenya. 

This past summer I visited Mukuyuni Farmers’ Co-operative society located in Kingatuani market about 10 miles along the Machakos -Kathiani road in Machakos County, Kenya.  I was immedeatly captivated by farmers ability to deal with challenges related to climate change through better agricultural practices and disaster management.  The cooperative focus on equality and equity is evident in its operational structure.  

The area's altitude is 6538 feet above sea level located on scenic landscape of  Iveti Hills, behind River Mukuyuni. 

This society consists of 932 smallhold farmers.  Mukuyuni farmers  deliver outstanding quality coffees

Mukuyuni coffee holds a special place in my heart as well as minds of specialty coffee buyers and roasters. The Coffee has  physical density, long shelf life, vibrant acidity, intense cup profile, and often, distinctive aromatics.
